Overview: In 2001
Lockheed Martin was awarded the contract to design
and build the new Joint Strike Force jet-fighter
(F-35). The contract awarded was estimated at
nineteen billion dollars ($19,000,000,000)! The
point of interest to all resource management professionals
regarding this award is the basis on which it
was awarded. An information technology journal
published the following:
“Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co.'s ability
to share complex project information across an
extended supply chain in real time was key in
its recent win”
This executive overview presentation will focus
on that ability. The
discussion outline:
- Company Background and Business Review
- The F-35 Program and the Supply Chain Challenges
it Presents
- How Lockheed Martin Aero is Addressing these
Challenges
- Wrap-up and Q&A
