Qualifications: Under general direction from the President, the Master Scheduler performs a variety of complex scheduling activities required to achieve production objectives at the Oceanside factory. Acts as a liaison between sales, logistics, purchasing, production and planning to facilitate quality improvements and ensure the most efficient use of available capacity and resources. Responsible for the establishing and monitoring production schedules (build plan) which maximize output and profitability to achieve customer requirements.

Duties: •Acts as primary contact / liaison between production, planning, logistics, purchasing, inventory control, and sales forecasting functions to establish schedules that meet the needs and time requirements of the customer.
•Optimizes capacity and on-time delivery within budget through effective capacity requirements planning and facilitating quality improvements with cross-functional groups.
•Reviews master schedule daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production equipment and labor capacity.
•Analyzes problem situations and rearranges production schedules to accommodate such situations, reports status of current production and material deficiencies and keeps sales and production management informed of required build plan adjustments and business impact.
•Optimizes inventory investments by reviewing computerized inventory data against confirmed and anticipated sales orders. Follows the flow of materials from order through receipt, production, inspection and shipping.
•Uses professional judgment and coordinates with purchasing to obtain and schedule materials based on production forecasts and activate reorder points to avoid shortfalls.
•Ensures products are shipped as scheduled and as economically as possible through effective implementation into the master schedule based on contractual delivery commitments, availability of raw materials, equipment and labor capacity restraints, and transportation timelines.
•Develops and sustains an accurate means of forecasting and monitoring production status using available software tools. Follows up on actual vs. scheduled production and adjusts build plan to meet unforeseen conditions.
•Participates in sales department forecast meetings or discussions, reviews marketing forecasts and identifies trends and translates the sales forecast into usable data for the master schedule.
•Collaborates with IS department Business Analysts to identify and implement strategies to ensure integrity of the data contained in the MRP/ERP system, to generate output that is accurate, timely, and meaningful to all concerned groups; recommends quality improvements to the system or input process, as needed.
•Develops a set of quantifiable attributes (quality and delivery performance, lead time, cost, etc), which reflect progress or highlight areas of improvement.
