The ideal candidate is a recent graduate (Supply Chain degree) or a junior level supply chain professional with 3-5 years of experience who can wear multiple hats from logistics management, purchasing, inventory management and operations.

Duties: Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible to execute the master production schedule and the materials requirements plan, ensure good use of resources, minimize WIP inventory and maintain desired levels of customer service within company purchasing and inventory policies.
Buyer/Planner activities will include:
Determine material requirements.
Issuing work orders & purchase orders.
Develop and communicate schedules, (both production and PO receipt).
Establishing delivery priorities.
Controlling orders in the factory and to suppliers.
Handling all activities associated with the buying and production scheduling functions.
Maintaining close contact with supplier personnel.
Maintain accurate vendor and parts master, purchase order, and vendor files.
Have knowledge of BOM's (Bill of Materials).
Secondary Responsibilities:
To assist the Supply Chain Manager in managing vendors at a strategic level (negotiation, selection, etc.) to achieve required service levels.
Procurement activities might include:
Work with product management and engineering to establish product specifications.
Selecting and evaluating suppliers, price determination, and negotiations.
Policing correct part master data, vendor master data, buyer/planner codes, approved vendor lists.
Monitoring planned vs actual vendor lead times and other required MRP data.
Developing vendor scorecards.
Communication with vendors on major performance issues, new sourcing initiatives, etc.
1. Bachelors degree in Supply Chain is preferred, but a Business Administration or related field is acceptable with 2+ years of related experience involving purchasing or inventory control-related responsibilities.
**In lieu of degree, 5+ years of progressively responsible related experience will be considered.
2. APICS Certification highly desired : CPIM
3. Working knowledge of automated inventory control systems and processes.
4. Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and controls.
5. Strong Excel skills required.
6. Ability to work independently and efficiently.
7. Strong organizational and prioritizing skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
8. Ability to travel domestically/internationally as required (5-10%).
9. Food experience is a plus.
