Cheri English, C.P.M., CSCP

Cheri has over 25 years of experience in Manufacturing and Materials Management. She has a degree in Administration of Justice, earned her C.P.M. in 2004 and her CSCP certification in 2008.

Her experience in Manufacturing includes Customer Service, Finance and a variety of roles in Supply Chain Management (Logistics, Purchasing, Planning, Inventory Control, Warehouse Management, Distribution, and Customs requirements) ranging in companies from small to Global in Aerospace, Maquiladora, Semiconductor and the Biotechnical industries. She is currently the Purchasing Supervisor/Manager for EMD Millipore in San Diego, CA.

Cheri has been an instructor for the San Diego Chapter since 2008, teaching the Back to Basics series and CSCP Review Courses. She has served on the APICS San Diego Chapter Board of Directors since 2002 as VP Publicity, VP Membership, VP Finance, Executive Director and Director of CSCP. She is currently serving as Director of CSCP for the current Board of Directors.

Ashley Hemond

Bob Lane

Bob Lane, President and Founder of LaneOPX is recognized as an Operations
executive and educator. He has successfully managed startup, high growth and
merger and acquisition businesses. Bob has been teaching Lean Operations,
Supply Chain Management, Global Sourcing and Project Management to
industry professionals and university students for more than 25 years. He
contributes as an adjunct instructor for California State University San Marcos
Extended Studies and California State University Dominguez Hills Extended
Learning. Bob is the co-chair of the Business Advisory Board at California State
University San Marcos. Previously he served on the Business Advisory Board of
the Rady School of Management at the University of California at San Diego.

Bob served as the President of APICS San Diego from 2011 – 2012. He
presently is the Vice President of College Relations and an active APICS
instructor.

Bob has been a keynote and panel speaker; presenting Lean Operations
and Supply Chain Optimization case studies at leading industry professional
associations: Advancing Productivity and Innovation (APICS), American Society
for Quality Training (ASQ), Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals
(CSCMP) and Southern California Lean Network (SCLN).

Bob has held senior management positions with Sony and Textron and
has worked closely with venture capital and private equity firms to lead the
turnaround of distressed manufacturing companies. In addition to Bob’s teaching
activities, he presently is the Vice President of Operations for Cali Bamboo. Cali

Bamboo is a green building products company and is one of San Diego’s 50
fastest growing firms.

Bob received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from
California Polytechnic State University and a professional certificate in
Construction and Architectural Engineering from the University of California
at San Diego. He completed advanced Japanese manufacturing education
and Lean training with Sony in Japan and Shingo Lean Six Sigma training with
Textron in the United States.

Scott Martin

Currently serving as the President-Elect of the San Diego APICS Board of Directors; Scott
Martin has 20 years of experience in Aerospace, Medical and Industrial Electronics.

Trained as a Mechanical Engineer in the Canadian Military he also holds a designation in
Quality Assurance Management from the University of Manitoba, and Advanced Management
from the University of Nevada Reno as well as additional technical course work at UCLA and
Georgia Tech.

Scott has held the positions of Managing Director, Vice President & General Manager, Director
of Operations, Operations Manager, and Program Manager for multinationals at both the branch
and corporate level in Canada and the United States including Motorcoach Industries, Standard
Aero Limited, Unisys Defense Systems, International Game Technology, Master Halco, Hytek
MicroSystems, MicroManipulator and Advanced ElectroMagnetics Inc.

Scott is a past President of the Northern Sierra chapter of APICS, past vice president of APICS
chapters in the US and Canada as well as a Senior Member of the Society of Manufacturing
Engineers and American Society for Quality. He served as liaison for the Manitoba chapter
of the Canadian Manufacturers Association and served on the Red River College curriculum
advisory council for Industrial Electronics as well as an adjunct professor for the Colleges of
Western Nevada and Truckee Meadows.

Aaron Minner, CSCP

Aaron has served the BOD for one year as VP of Publicity and is a full time student at CSUSM studying Business Administration with an emphasis in Global Supply Chain Management.

Aaron served in the Navy as a FMF Corpsman for 5 years and served in Iraq with 1st Battalion 1st Marines out of Camp Pendleton, California. After the Navy he started attending CSUSM full time. Aaron has interned with HD Supply and Precision Engine Control Corp.

Aaron has chosen to be a member of APICS because it offers great networking with supply chain/operations professionals in the region, provide a solid body of knowledge and expand professional skills and abilities with globally recognized certifications in the supply chain field.

Sue Franks, CPIM, CSCP, APICS Master CPIM Instructor

Sue has over 25 years of management experience in Materials, Manufacturing, and Operations Management. She has an MBA in Production and Operations Management from San Diego State University; earned her CPIM in 1991 and CSCP in 2006.

She has experience in a variety of manufacturing environments from start-up to high volume, and has worked for companies such as Sherwood Medical, Medtronic, 3Com, and Hewlett Packard. She is currently Operations Manager for JMAR, LLC, in San Diego, CA.

Sue has been an instructor for the San Diego Chapter since 2001, teaching all five of the CPIM Review Courses, a number of the modules for the Back to Basics series, and is on the staff for CSCP Review Courses and the Lean Enterprise series. She has served on the APICS Rewrite and Review Committees for Basics of Supply Chain Management, Detailed Scheduling and Planning, Master Planning of Resources, and Execution and Control of Operations.

She has served on the San Diego Chapter Board of Directors since 2004 as Vice President, CPIM Workshops; President Elect; President; and Past President. She is currently serving as Executive Director, Education, for the San Diego Chapter Board of Directors.

My experience is in automotive and aerospace industries, focusing on high volume manufacturing as well as low volume high mix manufacturing in aerospace manufacturing. I have a Six Sigma Green Belt Certificate from Villanova University, and I am a facilitator for the University of Phoenix where I teach Lean Enterprise and Critical Thinking: Strategies in Decision Making.

APICS linked my operations background in the military back to the civilian workforce after nearly an eight year career in the US Marine Corps. Since then, I have continued to be involved in APICS, earning my CPIM designation, and publishing two articles in APICS Magazine. I continue to enjoy the professional development and meeting Supply Chain and Operations Professionals across many industries.

Gavin Swigart

Gavin Swigart is the founder and principal of G Consulting. He currently works with companies in life science, medical device, power generation, and aerospace industries in the San Diego area. Over the prior 5 years, he served as a Production Control Manager in the aerospace and medical device industry with responsibility for the order fulfillment process from quoting and purchase order acceptance to planning, scheduling, and shipping.

Gavin graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Platteville with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics. Currently he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology through their distance learning program and will receive his degree in May 2013. Gavin also holds certifications in CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) and CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) through APICS. A strong believer in giving back to the supply chain community and keeping current with industry innovations, Gavin serves as a board member on the APICS San Diego Chapter and is a certified instructor in the APICS Instructor Development Program where he teaches CPIM and CSCP courses.
